Kimberly Kardashian West (née Kimberly Noel Kardashian; born October 21, 1980) is an American media personality, model, businesswoman, socialite and actress. Kardashian first gained media attention as a friend and stylist of Paris Hilton but received wider notice after a 2002 sex tape, Kim Kardashian, Superstar, with her then-boyfriend Ray J was released in 2007. Later that year, she and her family began to appear in the E! reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007–present). Kim Kardashian almost wore a totally different outfit to the 2016 Met Gala. In a new YouTube video filmed for Balmain’s archives, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star spoke about the spontaneous change of plans to her intended red carpet outfit. “I don’t know if anyone knows this, but we had a fully different look; an all-sequin gown to the floor look that (I was) going to wear for the Met Gala,” Kim recalled, adding that she and Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing ultimately decided to replace the outfit because “we wanted (it) to be more metal-y”.
