Police forces issued twice as many fines for alleged breaches of the lockdown over Easter Bank Holiday weekend than they had done in the fortnight before.
Up until Thursday, the 37 police forces in England had handed 1,084 fines out to those accused of not adhering to Government's coronavirus rules.
Police have been given powers to break up gatherings or to tell those they believe to breaching the lockdown to return to their homes.
Latest figures show that 3,203 fines had been issued in England, with a further 290 in Wales, by police up to the end of Easter Monday.
