Love Island fans will get their summer fix of the show just in a different way

Many Love Island fans were gutted when it was announced that, understandably, this summer's series was cancelled. Kevin Lygo, Director of Television at ITV, said that they have looked at ways to make it work but it is not logistically possible to produce in a safe way due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However they did promise the dating series, which would usually have started around this time, will be back "stronger than ever" in 2021.

But it's not all over yet. ITV2 has announced that the first series of Love Island: Australia will be broadcast on the channel this summer filling in the void for those who spend weeks keeping up with antics in the villa.
