Man and woman arrested on suspicion of modern day slavery

Police carried out a number of raids at five addresses in Manchester, Derby, Thames Valley and the West Midlands. A man aged 28, and women, aged 46, were arrested on suspicion of Section 1 and 2 of Modern Day Slavery Act.Police say the arrests were made in connection with an incident where a woman was 'taken by the occupants of a vehicle' on Broughton Street in Cheetham Hill on March 2.

The victim is being supported by trained officers in a safe location. Police also discovered a large cannabis farm while searching a property in Thames Valley.
