A man who bragged on social media about visiting a hospital without a medical reason has been jailed for 12 weeks. Kierran Stevenson, 32, from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, said on Facebook he visited Stoke Mandeville Hospital which is treating coronavirus patients.

Police said his actions had caused distress and disruption to hospital staff and the public. He was jailed at Oxford Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty to causing a public nuisance.

Stevenson was also ordered to pay £300 compensation to the NHS trust after also admitting to breaking the government's emergency movement restrictions.

In the post, he said none of the nurses had been self-isolating. He was caught on CCTV making his way through public areas in the hospital.
