Premier League is set to provide rapid coronavirus testing after the international break. With fixtures set to resume at the weekend, there had been fears over a potential rise in cases with players travelling from all over the world to return to the UK following another three fixtures for most.Clubs could have been left short of options for their matches if an outbreak had taken place, with the current 24 hour testing proving to be a nervous period while managers consider their options. However, a new rapid testing technique is set to be rolled out which will cut waiting times significantly. The Athletic has reported that the new tests, which will be made available this week, will allow players to begin training shortly after being checked.
