A man who punched an NHS worker and called a nurse a 'sl**' during a A&E rampage has been jailed. Daniel Shelvin, 27, has also been banned from five hospitals unless he needs life saving treatment or has an urgent appointment.
The incident happened at Salford Royal Hospital in March when he walked into A&E and said he had taken an overdose of prescription medication, Manchester Evening News reports.
He had been to A&E five times in the previous two weeks and was asking for help, Manchester Crown Court heard. Shelvin had been booked in and was in the waiting room, when he asked a nurse for some orange juice.
