Councillors have described a series of anti-lockdown protests scheduled to take place in south Manchester and Trafford as 'highly irresponsible'.

A number of 'Mass Gathering' events have been advertised as taking place at various locations across the UK this weekend. One such event has been organised to take place in south Manchester and another in Trafford.

An online poster advertising the events invites people to 'bring a picnic' along. They are both apparently taking place this weekend.

The protests appear to have been organised by an anti-vaxxing group called the UK Freedom Movement. Group members have said they believe the coronavirus lockdown is illegal.
