Manchester Crown Court is set to reopen for remote hearings following a coronavirus outbreak. The court in Spinningfields has been closed since Monday, August 10 after eight positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed among staff.Following the cluster of cases, health officials advised that more tests needed be undertaken by those working in the building, even if they hadn't displayed symptoms of the virus.An 'outbreak control team' was also established by Public Health England and Manchester council, to further investigate the outbreak.The court is now set to reopen tomorrow (August 26) for remote hearings only.Physical hearings will go ahead from September 1, HM Courts & Tribunals Service confirmed.In a tweet earlier today, the service said:.
