Manchester United and Man City Premier League TV games might not be free-to-air after all

It is widely accepted around football that when, or if, the Premier League returns this season then games will be played behind closed doors.

It has now been almost two months since a ball was last kicked in the competition due to the coronavirus pandemic causing a suspension of the scheduled games.

There is no set return date for the league, but there remains a determination to somehow conclude the 2019/20 campaign. It has been suggested that a return of games could come in early June, with all matches being played without a crowd, but with the action shown live on free-to-air television so that fans can still see their team play.
