Matt Hancock has given a glimmer of hope to those still wanting a summer holiday this year. The Health Secretary appeared on This Morning just an hour after the new NHS Test and Trace system went live.

ITV hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford used the interview opportunity to ask other questions such as the prospect of holiday's happening this year and if hairdressers could open any earlier.

Eamonn, 60, quizzed Mr Hancock after he previously ruled out the chance of a summer holiday for the British public - effectively saying summer was cancelled.

But now he has tentatively back tracked and said that he 'wouldn't rule out' holidays kick starting again in July despite the UK quarantine programme set to begin at airports next week.
