Health Secretary Matt Hancock has insisted barbershops and salons could reopen "soon", raising hopes for many Brits forced to deliver dodgy barnets to themselves.
Appearing on ITV's This Morning, the minister said the challenge to reopen hairdressers wasn't "insurmountable". But the Tory politician refused to give a date for when barbers will be up and running again, as he said the government were trying to work out plans to see how this could be done safely.
Any reopening of hair salons and barbershops will likely involve social distancing as well as PPE equipment. Speaking on TV, the Health Secretary said he would "love" to see salons reopen, adding that his wife had been cutting his hair during the lockdown.
