Mayor's charity helps those on frontline with £350k boost to aid Greater Manchester’s homeless community

Those on the frontline of helping the homeless community have been furnished with more than £350,000 since lockdown began. The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity has helped 30 charities to safeguard the health and wellbeing of people across the region living without a home over the last nine weeks.

Essential items such as food parcels, toiletries, hygiene packages and technological equipment have also been distributed thanks to funds, donated by businesses and individuals.

Charity workers are now looking past emergency provision - such as safe accommodation during lockdown - to the next phase. The coronavirus outbreak has left many people across Greater Manchester struggling for access to food, basics and other support.
