Michael Gove defends school reopening plans - but admits there is no guarantee they will be safe for teachers

Michael Gove has defended the Government’s plans to begin reopening primary schools in England from next month. Speaking on the BBC 's Andrew Marr Show on Sunday, he said measures were being put in place to ensure the safety of children and teachers as they returned.

However the Cabinet Office Minister admitted that there is no guarantee they will be safe from catching coronavirus. He told Mr Marr: "Teachers will be safe in school.
