Michael Gove has defended the Government’s plans to begin reopening primary schools in England from next month. Speaking on the BBC 's Andrew Marr Show on Sunday, he said measures were being put in place to ensure the safety of children and teachers as they returned.
However the Cabinet Office Minister admitted that there is no guarantee they will be safe from catching coronavirus. He told Mr Marr: "Teachers will be safe in school.
The programme that has been outlined has been a staged and careful return with children in year one, reception and year six in primary coming back to school, we hope, the week beginning 1st June. "Some of the best leaders in current education have said it is absolutely safe for children to return and
