Delhi hospitals set up their own oxygen plants amid Covid third wave concerns

NEW DELHI : About 20.8% elders have lost either family members or friends due to Covid-19 and most of them believe that a better medical and health infrastructure could have saved these lives, according to a report that surveyed 3,526 elderly people in the country.Marking the "World Elder Abuse Awareness Day", HelpAge India on Tuesday released the findings of its six-city survey, "The Silent Tormentor: Covid 19 and the Elderly", delving into the impact and challenges faced by India's elders during the pandemic.The study surveyed 3,526 people in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai.It found out that 20.8% of the people surveyed have lost either their family members or friends to Covid.
