The Cabinet will today to discuss revised spending estimates for several Government departments, including Social Protection.
Minister Heather Humphreys will bring a memo to Government on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment. Since March 2020, the department has spent more than €7bn on the PUP, with over €21m individual payments made.
The Ministers for Finance and Public Expenditure are expected to update Cabinet on the country's National Recovery and Resilience plan, which is necessary in order for Ireland to benefit from the EU's Recovery and Resilience facility.
Ireland is expected to receive grants of €915m under this fund, which will place an emphasis on investments in digital technology and green transition projects.
