A family’s desperate struggle to receive mental health help for their 10-year-old son has led them to share a distressing video in a bid to get support.

The harrowing clip shows the youngster - who we are calling James to protect his identity - being filmed by his mum and can be heard tearfully asking for support in order to help him from hurting himself or other people.

James’ family have revealed their boy’s mental state has been declining since a family bereavement six years ago. In the video terrified James can be seen telling his mum he has now started to have dreams in which he hurts people, as she tries to comfort and reassure him.
