Nearly 3,000 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in UK

Latest official figures from the Department of Health confirm that as of 9am there were 2,948 lab-confirmed cases of Covid-19.This is only 40 cases lower than Sunday's figure which was the highest recorded in three months.Overall, 350,100 cases have been confirmed.Another three coronavirus-related deaths were also recorded in all settings.Figures now show that 41,554 people had died in the UK within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of September 7, 2020.There are currently 756 people in hospital with 69 of those patients on a ventilator.This is a daily increase of 124.On Monday (September 7) NHS England said a further four people who tested positive for.
