Gov. Phil Murphy announced during his daily briefing 1,200 new cases and 244 new deaths attributed to the virus. A day after Murphy announced that retailers and small businesses can reopen for curbside orders and drive-in events can continue, the first term democrat says beaches and lakes throughout the state will reopen on May 22.
Boardwalks will likewise reopen, but restaurants will only be allowed to offer takeout orders. Attractions like amusement parks and arcades will also remain closed.
