The number of coronavirus deaths in New York has hit nearly 3,000 as Governor Andrew Cuomo warned "people will die" as a result of ventilator shortages.
The death toll is currently 2,935 yesterday, with an extra 397 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours - a record daily rise. There are a total of 102,863 cases across the state.
New York has become a hotspot for the spread of the virus in America, with Governor Cuomo urging medics across the country to come and offer their help if able to do so.
