NI Health Minister urges all-island ban on Denmark arrivals

Northern Ireland's health minister has urged the government of the Republic of Ireland to introduce quarantine rules similar to the UK for visitors from Denmark.

The British government has banned non-UK citizens coming from Denmark because of concerns about a new strain of Covid-19 that has spread from mink to humans.

In the UK, citizens who return from Denmark, and everyone in their household, must isolate for 14 days from the date they left the country.

The Stormont Executive has introduced a similar quarantine period for anyone who has travelled from Denmark since 23 October.
