North Korea has fired two missiles towards Japanese waters in what appears to be a brazen attack by leader Kim Jong-un. The “unidentified projectile” landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) waters, which is off the east cost of the Korean peninsula.
Japan’s coast guard confirmed the missile on Saturday, local time, and said a Joint Chiefs spokesman could not be immediately reached.
The unknown projectile was detected flying into the East Sea according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff. North Korea launched multiple projectiles towards Japan earlier this month, as part of firing drills.
