A Scots health board has issued an Omicron warning for guests at a five-star hotel after a large Covid cluster was discovered.

NHS Fife has confirmed a number of confirmed cases have been linked back to an event at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews. They are urging anyone who may have been in attendance during the evening of Saturday, December 4, to be on the lookout for symptoms including a new cough or a temperature.

They say there is evidence some of the positive results have likely been caused by the new coronavirus variant which has resulted in a change to isolation rules.

It is understood a Christmas party night featuring the tribute band Could it be Take That was held at the venue on the night in question.NHS Fife’s Deputy Director
