Paisley Rugby Club players have generously donated fines accrued throughout the season for minor indiscretions to lifeline charity The Star Project.
The cash collected from players for being late for matches or missing training is normally used for one big end-of-season night out - but they decided the £180 is better off in the pockets of those who need it most.Club bosses also revealed the Star Project, which is currently providing care packages to the most vulnerable people in the community, is to become its official charity partner next season.Heather Kay, project coordinator at The Star Project, said: “We’re overwhelmed by the club’s generosity.
