Coronavirus is going to be with us, one way or another, for months if not years. And even while lawmakers in Florida discuss lifting the state’s lockdown, hurricane season is less than 40 days away.
The latest forecast predicts that the Atlantic is likely to see an above-average number of hurricanes this season. And a volatile hurricane season can see extreme weather and storms pushed across the Atlantic and slamming into Britain.
Colorado State University’s annual prediction is for eight hurricanes between June and November. Roughly half of them will be Category 3, with winds up to 130mph and storm surges reaching 12 feet.
