Recreational drug users have been ‘microdosing’ psychedelics to improve their mental health during the pandemic, a new survey has found.
Researchers say the findings may indicate that some people with mental health issues gain ‘significant relief’ from microdosing psychedelics such as LSD and magic mushrooms.
However they warned that suddenly stopping psychiatric medications can lead to worsening of mental health and withdrawal and should not be done without medical supervision.
The Global Drug Survey - an independent research organisation based in London - collected data from more than 32,000 people in 20 countries between December 2020 and March 2021.
