While India continues to struggle with the health crisis, Dr Jayaprakash Muliyil, a noted epidemiologist and chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Epidemiology, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and former principal of Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, talked about the effectiveness of the lockdown in containing the virus, potential community transmission and effective measures to deal with the contagion.
