Petrol stations may have to close if they carry on with a downward spiral in sales due to the coronavirus pandemic, it has been warned.
Many will be forced to close if their business becomes unprofitable, according to a trade association. The Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) has said that that sites in rural areas are most vulnerable as fuel use has collapsed, reports the Express and Star.
The organisation said in a statement: “Many petrol stations will have to close in the coming weeks, as sales of fuel dry up and their businesses become unviable.” The PRA has advised motorists to check whether their petrol station is open before going up to fill up.
