Health Minister Adrian Dix said he’d been informed “some time ago” that there were issues with the pharmacy, and that the province had taken action pending the outcome of an investigation.“Today, officials in the Ministry of Health revoked the ability to bill under PharmaCare under the Pharmaceutical Services Act,” Dix said Thursday.The rare suspension from the PharmaCare billing system severely restricts a pharmacy’s ability to dispense drugs.Dix stressed that the investigation was into the specific pharmacy location in Burnaby, not the chain to which it belongs.“That’s a significant step and speaks to the level concern we have, because I don’t recall in recent times doing that as minister of health,” Dix added.“If the concerns are confirmed, then obviously it will be very serious for the people involved,” Dix added.
