WEST PHILADELPHIA - Two people, including a 17-year-old boy, were killed Friday after police say they were shot multiple times in West Philadelphia. The shooting happened shortly before 1:50 p.m. on the 5500 block of Arch Street.Police say an unidentified man, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 23, was shot four times in the lower back and once in the lower body. A 17-year-old boy was also shot once in the abdomen and once in the left leg. Both were taken to Presbyterian Medical Center by responding medics and placed in extremely critical condition.

Beachgoers help rescue 3 distressed swimmers in Wildwood, police say

WILDWOOD, N.J. - Beachgoers in Wildwood, New Jersey helped rescue three distressed swimmers who were using an unpatrolled beach Thursday afternoon, police said. The Wildwood Police Department and several local agencies were called to the beach near Andrews Avenue around noon for reports of a group of swimmers in distress.When authorities arrived, they saw several people in the surf and a person on a surfboard guiding a young girl to shore. Emergency medical responders transported the girl to Cape May Court House for treatment.Another woman was also lead to shore by citizens, according to police.

A man is dead and a woman is injured after police say an unknown shooter opened fire early Friday morning in Hunting Park. HUNTING PARK - Philadelphia police say a man was killed and a woman was critically hurt during a shooting early Friday morning in Hunting Park. An unnamed man in his 30s was found shot multiple times on the 4200 block of North Franklin Street just after 12:30 a.m., according to police. A second victim, a woman also in her 30s, arrived at Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
