AS Phillip Schofield has Covid, fellow Dancing on Ice host Holly Willoughby could get a new co-star. ITV bosses are considering an all-female presenting duo for the show’s return on Sunday.
That could see Amanda Holden take the reins while Phillip recovers from the virus, with Alison Hammond and Rochelle Hulmes also under consideration to join Holly.
A TV insider said: “ITV are a progressive channel who want to reflect the modern world as much as possible. “And while Dancing on Ice’s bosses are gutted to see Phillip forced to temporarily step out of hosting duties, that also presents an opportunity to have two women front the show. “Producers have seen the energy that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have brought to Strictly and they’re curious to see how Holly bounces off another female presenter. “But there’s no question of Phillip not returning.
He’ll be champing at the bit to get back to work.” The presenter tested positive for Covid yesterday, which meant he instantly had to isolate and step down from hosting This Morning.
