'Physical distancing doesn’t have to mean being alone': LGBT Foundation launches new befriending service to help with social isolation

Since lockdown measures were put in place, Manchester’s LGBT Foundation has reported a huge spike in calls to its crisis line.

From fears about being trapped with abusive families to concerns about not being able to attend sexual health appointments due to self-isolating, the organisation said it received the highest amount of calls this year over just one five-day period last month.

Self-isolation, albeit under completely different circumstances, is something that many members of the LGBT community have experienced only far too often.
