Piers Morgan and Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure were among the celebs praising Marcus Rashford for successfully securing free school meals for children over the summer.
The Manchester United played had penned an open letter to government officials, calling for the free school meals scheme currently in place to run outside of term time to make sure disadvantaged children are not going hungry.
It was announced on Tuesday by a Downing Street spokesman that children currently receiving free school meals in England will continue to do so when term ends in a dramatic U-turn from the government.
Stars were quick to react on social media, with Piers calling the extension a ‘magificent victory’ and Vicky branding Rashford an ‘inspiration’.
