Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan and Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure were among the celebs praising Marcus Rashford for successfully securing free school meals for children over the summer.

The Manchester United played had penned an open letter to government officials, calling for the free school meals scheme currently in place to run outside of term time to make sure disadvantaged children are not going hungry.

It was announced on Tuesday by a Downing Street spokesman that children currently receiving free school meals in England will continue to do so when term ends in a dramatic U-turn from the government.

Stars were quick to react on social media, with Piers calling the extension a ‘magificent victory’ and Vicky branding Rashford an ‘inspiration’.
