Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has vowed to continue campaigning after his actions led the Government to reverse their decision over free school meals. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a U-turn over not extending the voucher system over the summer, announcing the launch of a new Covid Summer Food Fund to pay for lunches for all 1.3 million children on free meals in term for the duration of the holidays.Such a decision came after Rashford had written a passionate open letter to MPs and campaigned tirelessly for the change on social media. In partnership with food poverty and waste charity FareShare, the England international had already helped to raise £20million to enable three million meals to be provided for.
