Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed that Kate Garraway doesn't know if her husband Derek Draper will ever come home. The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain host has shared his thoughts on his ITV colleague's desperation as her husband fights the effects of Covid-19 in intensive care.

Kate, 53, has been giving weekly updates of former political advisor Derek's condition, with him being taken out of an induced coma following over 10 weeks in hospital.

Piers has said that the emotional situation Kate and Derek find themselves in is "unbearably, gut-wrenchingly sad." Kate and Derek had been planning to renew their vows over the summer, some15 years after they married.
