Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan has told how he tried to console co-host Kate Garraway, as he husband battles coronavirus - by advising her to treat the situation like a "breaking news story".

Derek Draper tested positive for Covid-19 after experiencing unusual symptoms and breathlessness, before feeling incredibly unwell.

He was placed into a coma days after being admitted into hospital at the end of March by worried doctors as his condition deteriorated.

Derek is still in a coma, and although he's coronavirus free, doctors have said he still may not recover. Piers said he tried to console Kate, who is an experienced journalist, by advising her to find out as much information as she could - like it was a live news story.
