PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say two teenage girls were shot when they tried to drive away from a group of young men Friday night in North Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker told reporters that four teenage girls between ages of 16 and 17 were driving in a car near the intersection of Cecil B. Moore Avenue and North Broad Street around 10 p.m. As they slowly drove down the street, Walker said the girls became engaged in a conversation with a group of young men standing on the corner.

PHILADELPHIA - A teenage boy was shot and killed as he rode his bike in North Philadelphia late Thursday night, police say.The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the area of 2nd and Allegheny. Police say the 17-year-old victim was riding a mountain bike when he was shot multiple times in the torso.

UPPER PROVIDENCE TWP., Pa. - A Montgomery County man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he shot at police officers during an incident early Wednesday morning. David Naumenko, 62, is facing charges including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault and related charges in the March 16 incident. Authorities say officers were dispatched to the Meadows Apartments in Upper Providence Township around 3 a.m. after receiving a call from a family member that Naumenko was having a mental breakdown. The caller reported that Naumenko was armed and leaving their home, claiming that he was ‘harmless.’ The first Upper Providence officer that arrived on the scene located a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck with Naumenko and a woman inside.

Ryan Allen, Hatboro K9 officer and his K9 partner Louie UPPER MORELAND, Pa. - Hatboro police officer Ryan Allen will be honored Thursday morning with a procession to bring him home under hospice care. Allen, a 35-year-old loving husband and father, has been in the hospital for months after suffering complications from a reaction to a bee sting. He suffered a devastating brain injury in October when he had a heart attack after the sting.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have released video they say shows a vehicle linked to the shooting death of a 37-year-old woman in Strawberry Mansion earlier this month. The shooting occurred on Tuesday, March 1 on the 3400 block of West Huntingdon Street.Police responded to the scene and found a woman on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head.

PHILADELPHIA - Police have released new video showing the moment a man was shot and killed as he sat in traffic at a red light in Philadelphia’s Oxford Circle neighborhood. The incident happened back on March 8 around 8:45 a.m. on the 6400 block of Loretto Street. Video of the incident shows the victim, 18-year-old Levan Kennedy, sitting in traffic at a red light in his sedan. Then, police say a BMW SUV drove into the oncoming lane of traffic and fired multiple shots into the driver’s side window.

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope captured a stellar image of a bright star and surrounding galaxies in its latest optical performance test. The Webb team completed testing all of the telescope’s optical elements in a stage known as "fine phasing" on March 11, according to a NASA news release. During fine phasing, the Webb telescope focused on a bright star during an alignment evaluation but the cameras on the telescope are so sensitive, it was able to also capture the galaxies and other stars seen in the background. The subsequent image appears a tad orange/red because the telescope implemented a filter to optimize visual contrast, according to NASA. Astronomers were happy to report that "every optical parameter that has been checked and tested is performing at, or above, expectations." While the purpose of this image was to focus on the bright star at the center for alignment evaluation, Webb's optics and NIRCam are so sensitive that the galaxies and stars seen in the background show up. HOUSTON - One person has been shot at an office building in Houston’s Greenway Plaza, and police are searching for the shooter.The shooting was reported Wednesday afternoon at 20 Greenway Plaza, located at the intersection of Cummins Street and Portsmouth Street.The Houston Police Department says SWAT and officers have responded to the scene. MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. - A man accused of placing a tracking device on another person's car in Mohave County has been arrested.According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Cristian Gonzalez, a resident of Laughlin, Nevada, was arrested on March 14 after a man told authorities he found an Apple AirTag on his car."Deputies arrived and made contact with the victim, who advised he had located the tracker and believed it was placed by Gonzalez," the sheriff's office said in a news release.The victim also said he had an active order of protection against Gonzalez stemming from a previous incident.Deputies took the Apple AirTag and drove around town, eventually stopping at a park in Bullhead City."Approximately five minutes later, deputies observed a vehicle drive by their location and visually identified the driver as Gonzalez," the sheriff's office said.Gonzalez told the deputies he had a gun in his car and was taken into custody.During an interview with deputies, Gonzalez allegedly admitted to placing the AirTag on the victim's car. He also said he drove to the victim's house to take photos before driving to the park where he would confront the victim.Gonzalez was arrested and booked into jail.Cristian Gonzalez, 25, is accused of placing an Apple AirTag tracking device on another man's car in Mohave County.

Richard Michael Frank, 51, has been sentenced to jail time after being convicted of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old.  BUCKS COUNTY, Pa - A former Philadelphia police lieutenant has been sentenced to jail time for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, according to the Bucks County District Attorney. Richard Michael Frank, 51, was a Philadelphia police officer from 1999 to October 2019, when he was arrested, the DA says. Investigators began looking into Frank when a report of suspected child abuse was filed, according to authorities. Police say the child was interviewed at the Bucks County Children's Advocacy Center and she told investigators with the Southampton Police Department she was sexually abused by Frank from July to August of 2017 while he was supervising her. The victim's mother said Frank used his position of authority to abuse the child, saying, "he thought he was above the law," according to the DA's office. After a four-day trial, Frank was convicted of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors. Judge Raymond F.
