A joint statement has been issued by football's leading authorities following a ‘constructive’ day of meetings on Wednesday, with further discussions set to take place on issues that will affect all professional clubs in England - including Manchester United and Manchester City - in the next 48 hours.
The Premier League, English Football League, Professional Footballers’ Association and the League Managers’ Association have stressed that the ‘overriding priority’ is the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Constructive meetings were held and the schedule for the coming days was outlined, with discussions set to orientate around a number of matters - including player wages and the resumption of the 2019/20 season.
