Scotland's consumer watchdog has branded holiday and hospitality firms a “disgrace” for leaving tourists and wedding couples thousands of pounds out of pocket.Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) has called for action to help people unable to get refunds for cancelled flights, holidays and events during the Covid-19 crisis.

The charity has watched as its website traffic looking for advice on how to claim compensation for a holiday has soared by a whopping 920 per cent.

A similar website page on how to cancel a package break has seen a growth in views of 406 per cent.Cases brought to CAS include a young couple who are waiting for £15,000 in refunds after their wedding was cancelled and another pair who spent more than £2000 on holiday flights.In
