Idaho taxpayers will be on the hook for thousands of dollars toward the legal defense of accused killer Bryan Kohberger, whose lead attorney is contracted to be paid $200 per hour to represent him, according to a local report.Anne Taylor is a public defender for Idaho’s Kootenai County, but is being contracted to represent Kohberger in Latah County, where the Moscow student slayings were carried out, because of her expertise in handling capital murder cases. North Carolina man developed an "uncontrollable Irish accent" until his death after being treated for prostate cancer, according to research published in the British Medical Journal.The patient, who was only identified as a man in his 50s, was presumably afflicted with foreign accent syndrome (FAS) after receiving androgen deprivation therapy and being prescribed abiraterone acetate/prednisone.The report said the man lived in England during his 20s and had friends and distant family members from Ireland, but had never visited the country or spoken with the foreign accent."His accent was uncontrollable, present in all settings and gradually became persistent," the four researchers wrote in their report, adding that it first began 20 months into his treatment.WALKING DEAD SYNDROME AND OTHER RARE CONDITIONS THAT BAFFLE DOCTORS AND RESEARCHERSSeveral similar cases have been studied across the globe in recent years, but this was reportedly the first case of FAS described in a patient with prostate cancer and the third described in a patient with malignancy.The researchers believe his voice change was caused by a condition called paraneoplastic neurological disorder (PND), which happens when cancer patients' immune systems attack parts of their brain, muscles, nerves and spinal cord."Despite chemotherapy, his neuroendocrine prostate cancer progressed resulting in multifocal brain metastases and a likely paraneoplastic ascending paralysis leading to his death," they wrote.Even as his condition worsened, the accent remained until his death months later. The report said the man did not have any neurological examination abnormalities or psychiatric history.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia detectives are investigating the death of a woman in the North Philadelphia section of the city. According to police, officers responded to the 2600 block of North 8th Street for a report of someone who needed to go to the hospital on Friday around 2:30 a.m. Authorities say a 38-year-old woman was found unresponsive in a back bedroom. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESMedics pronounced the woman dead on scene at 2:35 a.m., according to officials. Police say the woman was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for examination. The investigation is active and ongoing, per police.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office has filed charges against two men in connection with a Super Bowl block party near Temple University that caused property damage. According to the DA's Office, Nicholas Faraglia, 22, and Edward Pearce, 23, both of Delaware County, were charged with criminal mischief, riot, criminal conspiracy, reckless endangerment of another person and disorderly conduct. RELATED: Crowd flips car near Temple University's campus ahead of Super Bowl LVIIAuthorities say on Super Bowl Sunday, around 4:20 p.m., officers from the 22nd Police District and Temple University Police responded to a call for a large unruly crowd on the 1700 block of West Arlington Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a silver 2008 Volvo S80 sedan flipped over on its roof in the middle of the street, police say. According to officials, the car's windows were broken and the license plate was removed.
