For the past several weeks we’ve been buried by the somber, sobering news about the coronavirus pandemic — so much so that I wouldn’t blame anyone for wanting to cry themselves to sleep.
As the number of deaths in Canada and around the world continue to rise and our front-line health-care workers and first responders put themselves in harm’s way, all while the COVID-19 outbreak lays waste to the global economy, we can’t help but get dragged down into what feels like a black hole of despair.
With all that being said, there is hope, as is written in one of my favourite passages in the Bible, The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5) The sports world has been darkened by this rapacious scourge —
