Making a child happy with a drive-through meal at home

When five-year-old Saoirse was feeling a little blue over the coronavirus restrictions meaning she couldn't make outings or see family and friends, her family went to great lengths to cheer her up - all while staying at home.

One of the things she missed was a favourite fast-food restaurant, so her parents decided to recreate the experience of a drive-through at home, in Bansha, Tipperary.

With meticulous preparations, they put together a meal that was sure to make Saoirse happy! This story was submitted as part of our #InThisTogether feature The world can seem a dark place right now, but there are glimmers of light as people come together while staying apart, showing the best side of human nature.
