Salma Hayek has opened up about how she thought she was going to die after catching the coronavirus. Speaking to Variety magazine from her London home via Zoom, the 54-year-old said: “My doctor begged me to go to the hospital because it was so bad.
I said, ‘No, thank you. I’d rather die at home.’” Salma, who was born in Mexico and is best known for her portrayal of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the 2002 film, is married to luxury group Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault, and has a 13-year-old daughter, Valentina.
During her illness the actress spent almost seven weeks in isolation in one room of the family home. She had to be put on oxygen and says she still hasn’t completely regained her energy.
