Sam Smith goes for walk during lockdown after Australian radio host’s non-binary comments

Sam Smith hit the headlines this week, after an Australian radio host refused to address them by non-binary pronouns. Kyle Sandilands sparked outrage when he questioned why he should call Sam ‘them/they’ after the singer came out as non-binary last year.

But the Promises singer, 27, seemed to have cast the controversy aside on Thursday, as they went for a walk in north London amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Sam kept things casual in a simple adidas T-shirt and jeans and listened to music on their headphones during the stroll. The singer, who gave an emotional performance of Lay Me Down for the BBC’s Big Night In later that day, seemed to be in good spirits during the solo stroll.
