Scottish Government announces 17 deaths and 3,349 covid cases in last 24 hours

The Scottish Government has confirmed that 17 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,349 new cases had also been identified overnight.

It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 9,375.

There are currently 759 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 55 being treated in intensive care.The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 677,408.To date 4,325,523 people have received their first vaccination with 3,922,893 having a second jab.The news comes as it emerged Prime Minister Boris Johnston was told to put a mask on three times during a recent hospital
