Seven people have now died due to coronavirus in Scotland - while a further 51 patients have tested positive for the deadly bug.

The latest figure comes after the government shut down pubs, cafes, restaurants and leisure centres across the UK in a bid to tackle Covid-19.

Schools were also closed by the Scottish Government earlier this week to minimise the spread of the deadly bug which has already claimed six lives.

So far 8,259 tests have been conducted in Scotland with 7,886 of them coming back as negative. There are currently coronavirus patients in all but two health boards across the country.
