SFA as the cost of the coronavirus crisis bites hard. Chief executive Ian Maxwell has revealed an alarming £4.5m black hole in the governing body’s budget.
And while a £5m government grant has been successfully secured to fill that shortfall, a consultation process has begun with shocked staff which could lead to as many as 18 full-time redundancies as bosses scramble to find a repayment plan.
Like all clubs, the ruling body has been hit hard financially by the impact of coronavirus. With the gates locked to supporters, the SFA missed out on revenue from three Scotland home games at Hampden Park in October as well as last weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-finals.
