Friends and colleagues of the ‘much-loved’ late deputy leader of Manchester council Sue Murphy will be able to leave messages in an online book of condolence.
Coun Murphy, who had been ill for some time, died in hospital at the age of 59 yesterday afternoon. Her death is not said to be related to the coronavirus.
The book of condolence can be found here. Tributes from across the political spectrum have been paid to the Labour councillor, who had represented Brooklands in Wythenshawe since 1995.
Since 2010 she has served as deputy alongside Manchester council leader Sir Richard Leese, who described her passing as a ‘devastating shock’.
