Chris Wilder has taken a six-month wage deferral to ease financial pressure on Sheffield United. The Blades boss joins chief executive Stephen Bettis and other senior members of his coaching staff in agreeing to the delay which also includes bonus payments.
Wilder is hoping the gesture will help the club retain the remainder of its staff on full pay. He said: "It is a difficult time for everyone and that includes football clubs and this particular measure is all about our football club. "I've had similar experiences of cash flow problems at other clubs and I'm delighted that my staff have supported me in assisting our club in a small way.” Sheffield United decided to furlough a small number of non-playing staff.
