The 59-year-old singer underwent surgery today (June 3) to fix a heart condition that she’s had since birth. “She had open heart surgery to correct a condition from birth the doctors discovered during a heart check up called PAPVR,” Amy‘s rep shared in a statement regarding the singer’s health. “Thankfully the doctor said it could not have gone better.

We’re praying for a full and easy recovery over the next few days, weeks, and months to come.” Her condition, called partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, was discovered by physicians during a routine checkup earlier this year.
